The Pawn
The Pawn, renowned for its good food and heritage value, has quickly earned a reputation as a favourite destination for locals and homesick expats - their Sunday Roast is legendary. The restaurant is spread over three storeys and incorporates a relaxed living room offering handcrafted cocktails, wines and whiskies, and a dining room serving modern British fare. The roof garden on the top floor overlooks bustling Wanchai as do the spacious balconies on each floor which are a perfect place to unwind and watch the trams roll by.
The menu encompasses traditional Brit favourites with a modern twist – fish and chips, lamb chops and prime rib as mains, with sticky toffee pudding, apple and blackberry crumble and trifle stealing the show for dessert. The first floor is home to The Pawn’s bar and lounge, which serves up artisan beers and the city’s largest selection of single malt whiskeys. The all-day bar menu offers British classics such as sausage and mash and Scotch eggs in a comfortable and cosy setting. Listen out for the live jazz and DJs spinning during the week.

Hong Kong
City Guide
Hong Kong has long been known as “The Pearl of the Orient” but, in recent years, it has developed a reputation as Asia’s “World City”. Its booming economy attracts big spenders who demand the best in dining, partying and – of course – retail. But it’s not all modern glitz and glamour. Much of the city’s charm lies in the juxtaposition of glass and steel skyscrapers next to old colonial buildings and ancient temples. Hong Kong also boasts a strong spiritual connection – you’ll find the world’s largest outdoor seated Buddha standing guard on the mountains of Lantau and Taoist deities at Wong Tai Sin Temple.
