Melbourne heats up in January when the excitement of the Australian Open comes to town. In 2010 the tournament will commence at Melbourne Park on 18th January with the women’s finals on 30th January and the men’s on the 31st. New Year’s Eve on the Gold Coast will be the party to remember this year, with the world’s only fully branded fashion five star deluxe hotel, Palazzo Versace hosting the ultimate event 'Unmasked'. International starlet Estelle will be jetting in to perform at the event and will sing some of her well-known hits including current radio collaboration with David Guetta ‘One Love’ and smash hit ‘American Boy’. The glamorous Palazzo Versace will be transformed into a haven of sensually themed rooms, each with its own personality. The event is described as a ‘sultry black tie ball with a difference’. One of the hottest events in the fashion and social calendars, London Fashion Week is taking place from Friday 20th to Tuesday 24th February 2010.  Known for fostering cutting-edge design talents, some of the names who have shown at London Fashion Week have gone on to design for some of the world’s most famous houses.

1986 Mouton Rothschild Imperial (6 Ltr) – Robert Parker 100pts

This is an extremely rare bottling of one of the world’s greatest and most revered wines from an outstanding Bordeaux vintage. We are privileged to be able to offer such a bottle of wine which is likely to have never been seen before here in Australia.

The bottle- with one previous owner- has been stored in private cellars since its purchase directly from the chateau upon release. The bottle is in extremely fine condition and is accompanied by its original wooden case.

An excerpt from Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate, 1996; “…..An enormously concentrated, massive Mouton-Rothschild, comparable in quality, but not style, to the 1982, 1959, and 1945, this impeccably made wine is still in its infancy. I suspect the 1986 Mouton-Rothschild requires a minimum of 15-20 more years of cellaring; it has the potential to last for 50-100 years! Given the outrageously high prices being fetched by so many of the great 1982s and 1990s, it appears this wine might still be one of the "relative bargains" in the fine wine marketplace”. RP 100 pts.

And finally, in case it wasn’t immediately obvious, Mouton Rothschild has commissioned some of world’s most famous artists each year since 1945 to depict an original work on the label. In 1986 Bernard Séjourné was the selected artist following artists such as Miró, Picasso, Dali.
