To commemorate the Tour of Duty Run taking place in August 2010, Glenn Wheatley in conjunction with the Australian Fire Fighters will hold a charity concert at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl on Saturday 6th March. John Farnham will lead an all star line up of Australian artists with the proceeds raised will go to the Children's Hospital Burns Unit in each Australian State.
The Tour of Duty Run is in honour of all the emergency service workers who gave their lives in 9/11. The Australian Fire Fighters will run from Los Angeles to New York, finishing at Ground Zero. This 27 day journey is a statement of hope for the future of our world and reflects the better values of humanity, mateship, camaraderie and self-sacrifice.

EVENT: The Hong Kong International Film Festival, Hong Kong

This year’s Hong Kong International Film Festival promises to be one of the highlights of our region’s cinematic and cultural year. Featuring new films from both Asian and international auteurs, they’ll be showing over 250 movies from 50 countries, attracting both celebs and the great and the good of the Asian and international movie industry to Hong Kong for the two week extravaganza.
This year’s festival is being held from Sunday 21st March to Tuesday 6th April 2010. Festival-goers will enjoy world-class films, attend seminars hosted by leading filmmakers from around the world, visit film exhibitions, access celebrity parties and more.
At the same time, the fourth annual Asian Film Awards will be honouring filmmakers who’ve made an outstanding contribution to cinema in the region in the past year. The presentation ceremony takes place as part of the red carpet and star-studded opening gala – the most famous filmmakers and superstars from around the world will be attending, ensuring the evening will be a glamorous affair.

Larissa Patrique has been involved in the art industry for over 20 years, owning Rushcutters Bay Gallery for 12 years before embarking on her journey as an artist. Patrique is particularly renowned for her fabulous glass sculptures. These pieces are created through a unique artistic process that involves fusing lead-light glass in a kiln to create brilliant colours and unique designs. Andy Warhol (1928-1987) was an American visual artist and filmmaker most famously known for spearheading the 1950s pop art movement. This piece on sale, Love, is part of a series of erotic screenprints Warhol produced in 1983. Warhol’s work is part of many important public and private collections. As he remains one of the most buoyant artists in the most unpredictable marketplace, Warhol’s work continues to break records. Love is a unique one colour (black) screenprint on paper with official Warhol estate, foundation number and stamp. It measures 30” x 21 ¼” and is in mint condition. Price - USD 35,000.

Botanical is one of Melbourne’s iconic hotels and is located in the heart of South Yarra opposite the Royal Botanic Gardens.
