ASKQ: Pekin Fine Arts presents: Spring to Autumn - Solo Exhibit by Bai Yiluo

Bai Yiluo, born in 1968 in Luoyang, He’nan Province, is a self-made artist who now lives and works in Beijing. His solo exhibit – “Spring to Autumn” - at Pekin Fine Arts, Beijing consists of paintings and installation works which reflect remote memory, destiny and poetic melancholy.
On display are ceramic skulls, an ancient wooden boat, pictures of clocks and watches cut from fashion magazines, fingerprints, old wooden chairs and farm tools - all of which are presented in a unique way.
A special world view and life philosophy, unique to the Chinese people, is present in these works. The evidence of sadness and quietness in his works is said to match the temperament of the artist. Similarly, its title -“Chun-chiu” meaning “spring and autumn” in Chinese - reflects the passing of time and implies human helplessness towards an irreversible past.

白宜洛（Bai Yiluo）1968年生于河南洛阳，自学艺术，现工作生活在北京，其个展‘春秋’目前在北京艺门画廊展出。
某种悠远的记忆，宿命，忧伤的诗意将是这个展览的基本基调，艺术家放弃他擅长的图片方式，而将展出新的绘画和装置作品。陶制的骷髅，古老的木船，各种时尚杂志上剪下的钟表图片，指纹，旧的木椅和农具，这些材料和形相将被用独特的方式展示在我们面前。
指纹绘画也出现在艺术家的展览中。和艺术家气质相符的是这些作品所透出的气息，忧郁而平静，关注人的基本情感，如同“春秋”这个词，蕴涵了更多的时光上的穿越，对流逝者不可挽回的无奈，充满故事，感叹。一种中国人所特有的宇宙观和人生观笼罩在这些作品的气质之中。

Qeelin’s newly-launched 2009 collection, Yu Yi, draws together the threads of the countless myths and legends that surround the Chinese longevity lock. The Yu Yi design at the heart of the collection is imbued with deep rooted symbolism (of security, protection and even of good luck) from the Middle Kingdom and combines cultural significance with technical acumen and fine craftsmanship.

LAN Beijing and F2 Gallery are exhibiting the famous “Marilyn 12” photo series by Lawrence Schiller from now until 22nd November 2009.
Twelve limited edition gelatin silver prints of Marilyn Monroe, icon and legend of the 20th century, are on display at LAN’s art space, neatly tucked in the spaces between the breathtaking restaurant and club.
Contemporary art specialist Fabien Fryns presents the works by legendary photographer Lawrence Schiller in an approachable and modern setting. Photos of Marilyn Monroe are always special and even 47 years after her death, the images of the iconic American movie star have lost none of their mystic and fascinating appeal.
Lawrence Schiller took the photo series “Marilyn 12” just two months before Marilyn Monroe’s sudden death in August 1962 on the film set of her unfinished movie “Something’s got to give”. The photographs include images from the last birthday of the American sex symbol.
