Wine: Painted Rock Estate Winery, Canada
Awarded “Best New Winery” at 2009 Okanagan Fall Wine Festival Wine Competition, recipient of the 2010 Lieutenant Governor’s Award for Excellence in British Columbia Wines for their 2007 Red Icon and 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon, Painted Rock has achieved cult status at an incredible rate. To win one of these awards is a great honour. To win two in the same year is very rare. To win two in your very first year of production is unheard of.
Named for the pictographs that border the 60 acre property, Painted Rock is singularly committed to the production of ultra premium Okanagan wines. Perched high the shores of Skaha Lake on what was home to the largest apricot orchard in the British Commonwealth—the land had lain fallow for 17 years, so they were able to contour properly promoting perfect air movement through a micro-climate rated class one in every aspect in order to plant the finest vinifera vines from Bordeaux.
Painted Rock adheres to the strictest protocols in their estate vineyards to produce ultra-premium wines that reflect the perfect marriage of a new world fruit and old world processes, and throughout the winemaking process employ the best modern technologies and expertise, while respecting old world traditions. Believing that the Okanagan will soon yield wines as identifiable as those from Bordeaux, Burgundy, or Napa, Quintessentially is delighted to introduce Painted Rock Wines to its members and friends.
For the month of September, the Red Icon can be purchased at a preferred rate only available through Quintessentially. As quantities are limited, please contact qcanada@quintessentially.com as soon as possible to ensure you do not miss out on this offer.
